The Rock Children's Ministry
“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them,
for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
— Matthew 19:14
Who we are
The Rock is JICF’s children’s ministry for children ages 0 – 12 (or grade 6). We believe that parents are to be the primary disciplers of their children. We are honored with the privilege partnering with parents in discipling these precious children.
Mission
In partnership with parents, to disciple children so they will become true followers of Jesus Christ.
Vision
Both our mission and vision are rooted in Matthew 28:19-20, when Jesus said, “Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”
The Great Commission is the compass and heartbeat of The Rock. It is our mission and vision to work together with parents to help children to grow up to become true followers of Jesus Christ. Subsequently, it is our hope and prayer that The Rock will become a grace-filled community where children, parents, teachers and assistants can work together to build each other up.
Core Values
Biblical
The Word of God needs to be central to all we do. We must think biblically and grow in a way that builds on the truth of Scripture. Everything we do is to be evaluated in the light of Scripture.
Prayer
Prayer is the primary way God desires us to do the work He has called us to. Personal prayer and corporate prayer are the life-sustaining work of this ministry. Good work can be done without prayer, but excellent work with long-lasting fruit will be done only through prayer.
Discipleship
The Great Commission is our compass; therefore, disciple-making is the heartbeat of our ministry to children.
Partnership with Parents
We endeavor to work together with parents to help children grow up to become true followers of Jesus Christ.
Grace-filled community
It is our hope and prayer that The Rock will become a grace-filled community where children, parents, teachers, and assistants experience God’s grace, and in turn will be able to extend grace to each other.
