Welcome to JICF Midweek Chats
The COVID-19 situation may leave us feeling disoriented and confused as we try to navigate the “new normal”. Why is God doing this? Is He still good? What should I do? How do I overcome anxiety and fear? How can I help others? Midweek Chats is a series where we are talk about topics that are relevant in light of the unique time we’re living in. Each week we’ll have a conversation that centers on questions or challenges that arise over the current situation we’re facing. Our Midweek Chat seeks to shed light on and encourage you in the midst of this difficult season. As we navigate this unprecedented times, we hope and pray that you will be blessed by this weekly series.
In this episode, we discuss fear, anxiety, and worry, which are common emotions as we navigate these unprecedented times. We talk about the ways in which they may affect us, what God says about them through Scripture, and the practical ways in which we can overcome them. We were joined by a special guest who is a COVID-19 survivor in Indonesia; who shared with us about his experience, and how he dealt with fear, anxiety.
There are many in our city who have been significantly displaced due to the impact of the coronavirus outbreak. So what are we as the church going to do about it? We’ve been placed in the city of Jakarta for such a time as this- so what can we do to meet the needs of those who need it most?
In this episode, we talked about how a good God can allow the COVID-19 pandemic. Maybe you’ve wondered where God is in the midst of the chaos that has taken over the world, and if He is truly sovereign, why all of this is happening. If so, this episode is for you!
No matter who you are, you have probably felt some of the financial and economic effects the COVID-19 pandemic has caused. Many people have undergone pay cuts and even lay offs, businesses are struggling to make ends meet, and many business owners are faced with the difficult decision of having to let people go. While the coronavirus outbreak has completely revolutionized the way business is conducted, what does it look like for us to continue to live out our faith despite the crisis?
The way we interact with each other has drastically changed since the coronavirus outbreak. Re-learning how to navigate relationships can be especially challenging during this time. So what does it look like for us to continue to pursue Christ-centered relationships that glorify God?
Children are heritage from the Lord. As parents, we have been given an awesome responsibility to train up our children. During COVID-19, many of you are assisting your children's learning at home. It is good for us to take a step back and ask the question: What is the goal of education? Why are we sending our kids to school in the first place?"
The three means of grace God provides us with are: His Spirit, His Word, and His People. We need all three to grow toward maturity. We can only carry out the One Another commands of Scripture together with God's people in our community.
